I’d be surprised if Sweden’s Bara Badu Bastu didn’t win. It’s a banger! It’s not perfect—every time the chorus hits I love the first bar and then it never repeats the 8th notes in the “Bara Badu Bastu” part, which I feel like would have been much more satisfying. Anyway…
Hopefully some sappy ballad doesn’t win (e.g., the UK entry or Israel’s). My pick last year, Rim Tim Tagi Dim, lost out to a song with considerably less energy.
My backup pick is Espresso Macchiato. While it has possibly the stupidest lyrics ever written, it’s got great instrumentation and an infectious beat.
I actually think our song is top-drawer - at least, on record. I listened to Remember Monday's semi-final performance and it did not come across well live at all.
I don't really think Estonia has a chance. The lyrics are hilarious but his vocals are bad.
I think the winner will be Sweden or Austria.
Personally, I think Luxembourg is a bit of a dark horse this year, especially with the FANTASTIC staging upgrade from the national final. I think Laura has top 10 potential, when many people didn't even think she was going to qualify. I would also love to see Latvia do well, as I will always be a fan of Folk music.
Again, I don't see any of them winning, but my personal top 5 are (in no particular order bc my favorite keeps changing): Luxembourg, Latvia, Norway, Iceland, and Finland.
I have so many other Eurovision thoughts that I won't get into here, but I could quite literally talk about this all day.
