Redundant comments on JetPunk

Submitted by FreeStater on December 27, 2025
Does anybody else notice that there seem to be a lot of redundant comments on JetPunk, especially about errors? I'm sure you've seen it: a quiz will be featured or updated with a mistake, usually pretty small, and then a flood of comments will come in about it. Do people not read other comments before posting their own? Do they just want to show off their knowledge?

Whatever the case, it seems the QM has become pretty good about deleting them, while still saving the original complaint.

I actually am having an error currently with my notifications. When I only have 1 notification (A challenge that I am waiting until I can use a computer for faster typing), it shows that I have two.

That happened to me yesterday. Once you read that one notification it'll be fine.

I was about to make an MB post about it yesterday, but it isn't much of a problem

The most redudant comments I've seen are in the German section 'Taiwan is not a country'

'Where's Palestine'

And 'Kosovo's not a county', that sort of thing.

And it's everywhere, with 4-5 each.

Well of course, Kosovo is very clearly not a county!

Kosovo shouldn't be on this quiz

Taiwan is a part of China

Palestine is a country, and Israel shouldn't be

(please note that it's an example, and I believe the opposite of those...)

everyone, especially jetpunkers, likes to feel smart for noticing something that the quizmaker didn’t. in service of that feeling of superiority, they will often scroll right past numerous other comments pointing out the same problem and author their own correction, thinking they are the smartest user of anyone who played this quiz

Oh, I added one as a joke once, as there was 5+ of the same comment about 'North Macedonia'.

Well i guess a reason for this is because complaints tend to get more noticed if there are more, because if just one person complains about something, well its not gonna do much. However if 60 people complains about it, well its gonna have a bigger effect on it and theres more chance of it being changed.

Its like 1 unhappy customer vs 60 unhappy customers.
