Reformatting of the Countries Visited Map

Would it perhaps be possible to revisit the Countries Visited Map visible on profiles to add subdivisions for other countries or to add additional subdivisions to existing ones? For example, I would like to add Macao as a place that I've visited to my map, but unlike Hong Kong, it is not available for selection. Additionally, I imagine for Japan, the ability to select prefectures individually would be welcomed.

Perhaps also a toggle to switch between viewing whole countries and the subdivions? For those who prefer the more solid blocks on the maps than the lighter shade for unvisited subdivisions.
