Right solution to reveal two different answers cells?

Submitted by Thisisreal on February 4, 2025
Hi guys, I'm making a quiz of people with nicknames, and I want every right type-in to reveal the answers in two cells side-by-side - one cell to show the person's name and the other cell to show the nickname, e.g. typing "Kennedy", "John Fitzgerald Kennedy" or "JFK" will all reveal one answer with "John F. Kennedy" and another answer with "JFK".

I saw this idea with "entering a correct capital will also reveal its country" type quizzes but can't find an example quiz right now.

Can anyone help on how to do this?

You'd want to add an extra hint column and go to the design tab. Select "Manual" for the design mode, and click on the cell you want to be hidden. There should be a little "Hide" button that pops up when you select the cell. Then you just select the answer that needs to be answered correctly to show it.

Make sure you do this AFTER you have all your answers and hints and everything and you're basically done the quiz. If you add a question in manual mode, you'll have to manually add the question to the quiz. Switching to manual mode just keeps the "Auto Design" settings and is much easier to work with until you have all your answers finalized.

It worked, AND I did have to add something after switching to Manual and did all the hiding again, as you warned... Live and learn. Thank you!
