RYM vs. AOTY.org: Which is better?

I love the user-created lists on RateYourMusic, although I do find the reviews to be kind of harsh and pretentious.

RYM has a way better UI, generally better reviews (they’re required to actually focus on the music and content of an album instead of being 80% funny one liners like on AOTY), and most importantly better tagging and discovery systems. I’ve noticed it’s hard to find cool stuff on AOTY unless it’s super popular or you’re specifically looking for it but I’ve come across a TON of random obscure albums on RYM just by clicking around the site and that’s by far the most significant aspect of a website like that for me
