I’m on vacation right now with my family and some friends, and last night we thought it would be fun to go mini golfing. It was this tiny little outdoor place with 18 holes, and we had made it through about 10 when my mom thought she recognized someone.
Turns out it was Gaten Matarazzo, the actor who played Dustin in Stranger Things, one of my favorite shows. My mom introduced herself (I was too scared, though I regret not approaching him) and she said he was a really nice down to earth guy
I've met a few "famous" people over the years, I tend to just talk to them as I would a friend, with respect and interest.
I've also had conversations with people that I didn't realise were famous.
My parents went on a trip to New York about ten years ago and went to a Broadway show. They had pretty good seats, and my father was sitting next to a young woman. Someone from a couple rows back waved at this young woman and called out, “Hi Emma!” My father offered to switch seats with them so Emma could sit next to her friends. Emma politely declined. He had no clue that it was Emma Watson (Hermione from Harry Potter). I bet she appreciated sitting next to one of eight people in the entire world who didn’t know who she was. 😂
There were quite a few celebs on that tour. We were transporting a mock-up business jet around Europe.
While we were walking on the lawn, a car pulled up and an angry older lady got out and started talking with my friends. After a short conversation, she realized we weren't tourists and let us keep walking - turns out it was Lady Carnarvon haha!
