So I will be attending Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland for the next few years. I have never even been to Great Britain before, anything I should prepare for in particular? I have been to Ireland before for context though.

Welcome to Scotland - hope it goes well. My band played live in the Westport Bar in Dundee once. It's tough to understand the garbled language here; I don't know what half the people are on about myself, and I've been here my whole life. Maybe you'll get to see a Dundee derby where the visiting team players walk down to street to get to the away ground. Did you know that Dundee United have a 100% record against Barcelona?

I've never been to Scotland, so I'm not really any help. Maybe you could start eating haggis? I mainly just wanted to say congrats! Sounds like an awesome opportunity. Wish I would have studied abroad when I was younger.

Well done. Dundee is a nice friendly place, although a little hilly, you'll certainly stay fit!

I have indeed heard quite good things about Edinburgh from folks who've been there, I don't doubt I'll visit it a few times while I'm in Dundee

You must visit Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Dundee is cold, windy, and weather is very gloomy. Not dramatically worse than Ireland, but the wind off the North Sea can feel freezing so bring a proper waterproof jacket.

Locals are generally direct but friendly. Don't forget UK plugs (UK plugs are Type G). Also tap water is safe
