Signs of Environmental Issues from Wildlife.

Hi JetPunk community,

Recently, Deer have been coming closer to my house to eat grass which is unusual because they usually don't go close to peoples houses. Not just deer but also there were some foxes that came close to my house. Is anyone else experiencing this and does it hint to a greater environmental issue as a whole?

I am seeing a greater number of Stegosaurus graze in my fields, so this is a bit concerning. Maybe Reddit will yield more promising results than the JetPunk Message Board, they tend to dive deep into topics like this.

I do not have a Reddit account or am familiar with its platform but I do know that this JetPunk community is from all over the world and has communal mutual knowledge of Geography, which ties into the environment around therefore supporting that this is an appropriate place for this thread.

This is quite normal where I live. Sometimes we even like to play a game with the deer: Will the car hit the deer! 10 points if the deer ends up inside the car, 5 if it is a buck, and none if it doesn't hit.

Also deer coming up to houses is 100% not a sign of environmental issue. Especially if you have a garden or a specific type of plant.

It is the beauty of living in the mountains. Stuff can happen to you to make it interesting while also not having to worry about noisy neighbors!

Animals approach my house a lot. I remember a few years ago, we found a rabbit family living about a foot away from the house. Deer frequently show up to munch on our yard's goodies and the random raspberry and blackberry bushes that grow near my yard as well.

Ah, nice, my state is pretty industrialized so maybe it causes deer to approach houses directly less frequently as it does in your state.

We’ve had leopards come into residential complexes in a few of Mumbai’s suburbs, because their habitat has been encroached upon. (Apparently the Maharashtra government is sending 50 leopards from the State to a privately run wildlife sanctuary in Gujarat.)
