Six quizzes on the front page?

Submitted by akjlddkjslfsd on February 2, 2026
There are six quizzes on the front page again today (Feb 2).

I'm guessing it's because of Groundhog Day. They now seem to do this on every major holiday in the US (it happened on Martin Luther King Jr Day this year as well).

Is this correct?

Yes, MLKJ Day is an actual holiday in the US. We also get a day off of school for it

It's an American holiday celebrating the halfway point through winter (I think, measured from the winter solstice to the spring equinox)

I'm not American though so I could be wrong

Sort of. It is when we let a groundhog decide, based on his shadow, whether we get more cold or warm weather for the next 6 weeks

When a stupid groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil decides whether there is 6 more weeks of winter, or spring is coming early (decided by his shadow). It is a very stupid groundhog as well (he is almost never right)

You couldn't ask for anything more American than that.

If he's almost never right then he's almost always wrong so is a good predictor. (it's the other option that will happen)

Confused...

Maybe your theory was correct, QM might be experimenting with something.

But the alignment with major US holidays can't just be a coincidence, right?

No, probably not a coincidence... maybe there's expected increased traffic on certain days, so there are more quizzes?

It should be important to remember that there's either a program choosing quizzes, or QM preparing them a few weeks early or something.

There's six again
