Small suggestions

Submitted by Trompete79 on December 20, 2025
Hi! Just two small suggestions today:

- Blog Views | It would be nice if you were able to know how many users have actually clicked on a blog. Cause currently, you only see the likes. Ofc you can't track if someone actually read it so the statistic would probably be a little bit off but I don't see that as a problem.

- Scheduling | It would be cool if we were able to schedule blogs. Also, it would be nice if you could schedule changes you make on quizzes.

For the first one, I don't think it's necessary. You can tell if someone read your blog just by looking at the likes. Also, counting views doesn't really work very well because people can load the page and then close it right away (or refresh the page) and that's still going to count as a view, even if they didn't really read the blog.

The second one could be useful though.

Yes, I agree, it would be a bit off, but do you really like every blog you read? That's exactly what made me post this, by looking at the likes, you don't actually know how many people visited the page.

It's true that not everyone likes every blog they read, but likes are an indicator that people gave attention to your blog, even if it only works in one way (in logic jargon, it means "like" implies "view" but not the other direction, or "like" is sufficient but not necessary for "view")

But I can see how some people might want to have a "view count" of some sort

I would like both, of course scheduling makes sense, but views would also be nice. Even if it is just a metric of how many people visited the page, at least I'd be nice to get an idea of how many people went to your blog in the first place.

I would honestly say that anyone who uses the RUB would probably click on your blog either way, just out of curiosity, or maybe to simply leave a comment. It would still be a cool metric to have.

I assume virtually every blog would be opened by most blog readers, aside from people who are not interested in a long running series.

That's a good point, yeah.

I got this idea while looking at the German blog section. Cause there, about 0.4 to 2 blogs are published per month and if you post one, you almost never even get a single like. So I was quite interested how many people are actually visiting them.

For the English section, things are a bit different, you're right.

Hey Trompete, I visit your blogs, but my German isn't proficient enough to read them... And I don't know most of the cities you write about 😭

I know that I sometimes use weird german words, I'm sorry about that.

And even if not many people read those texts, I still enjoyed writing them and that's what counts.

I'll be honest here, I read most blogs, although I'm not a fan of the long running game series, sorry. Nothing against them, just not my interest. But, even though i may leave a comment occasionally I often forget to hit the like button. It's the same with other social media, I read an entry, even comment, but don't press the button to like it. In that vein, having a visit count would be a great addition.

Also I like the idea of scheduling blogs as well.
