Somaliland

Israel has become the first country to formally recognize the Republic of Somaliland as an independent state, more than three decades after it unilaterally broke away from Somalia.

While no other state has granted it formal recognition, several countries like the UK, Ethiopia, Turkey, the UAE, Denmark, Kenya, and Taiwan have kept liaison offices in the region.
