Sudden Death Format Suggestion

Submitted by LuckyCat on January 11, 2026
When making a Sudden Death quiz, the number of given answers is 30. This number is fine, and works good on mobile because the default number of columns is 3, meaning if the user just does 30 answers, then there will be 10 rows of 3 columns. Works out nicely.

However, on desktop, it just doesn't look good. If the user sticks with 30 answers, then the default on desktop is 4 columns instead of 3. 30 ain't divisible evenly by 4, so the format ends up being wonky with an uneven row at the bottom.

I want to suggest changing the default settings somehow. Either reducing the total number of answers to 24 (divisible by both 3 and 4 for mobile and desktop, plus it's still a good amount of default answers), or just changing the default desktop format by itself to either have 3 default columns, or something else.

I know the site is supposed to be targeted for mobile users, but still, I think it could be changed somehow for desktop so that Sudden Death quizzes made by users who don't care about the format would still look decent, without the funky default format of the uneven row at the bottom.

What are your thoughts?

This site is definitely NOT targeted towards mobile users.

We make more than 80% of our revenue from desktop users!

Hmm, I thought someone somewhere said something about mobile being the target. My mistake.

Either way, about the format...
