I've seen the Tour Montparnasse being called ugly, not because of its appearance, but because of its prominence in the Paris skyline.

As a visitor to Paris, the Tour Montparnasse is a very useful landmark if you are staying in Montparnasse and want to get back to the hotel.

Lol, the Wikipedia page even says that Parisians say the the best view of Paris is from the top of the Tour Montparnasse, since you don't see it from there.

well, in what other country would you find mc. mansions?

also, i don't think boston city hall's that bad tbh. its the color and look more than the design, the idea couldve had better execution

and in general it's hard to make a building look bad in my eyes. most architecture is boring or beautifull, or somewhere inbetween. it's quite hard to go below subpar (not counting mcmansions though).

what do you think of the scottish parliament and rom crystal, alamodome (what dome?), denver int'l, and florida state capitol?

You have to go to Boston to realize just how awful that building is. The pictures don't do it justice. It's like a Soviet prison plopped down in the center of a beautiful, historic city. It's completely out of place.

Here in France we also have our share of ugly buildings but I wouldn't include the Tour Montparnasse on the list.

Here's an ugly one, with a "bristly" style I just can't love: L'Arbre blanc - Montpellier

And it even won the award of "the most beautiful building in the world in the category of Housing Buildings"... Crazy world!

Chamberlain Square, Birmingham: Just bring back the original building at this point. The second building was arguably more of an eyesore than the one that is currently standing, however.

The New Jersey State House is probably the ugliest state capitol. It looks like it was assembled under the bottle.

The Chilean and Honduran parliament buildings make a stand.

I love when a building is hideously ugly but also completely impractical.

i mean the LDS temple in downtown SLC used to be magnificent but it's been covered in scaffolding for like six years with no end in sight

i hate 432 Park. i have no problem with boxy buildings and i love so many of the buildings on the NYC skyline but 432 Park is horrendous

Nobody has even submitted any public high schools. I volunteer my middle school. It's hideous. If you can find it, then that is what I submit.

The Peter B. Lewis building in Cleveland is up there. Looks like a pile of metal fettuccine from above

A good idea.

There is one near where I live, the Cumbernauld Centre, not far from Glasgow.
