Unusual places visited?

Just wondering, have any JetPunkers here visited very unusual or dangerous places like North Korea, Somalia, Tuvalu, Antarctica, etc.?

I've sat in the Speaker's chair in at least a dozen state legislatures. That is somewhat unusual and, according to William Henry Tison, quite dangerous.

You’ve been to all US states? That’s a lot.

I went to Albania during the Hoxha regime, I was delivering frozen beef that was rejected from the EU. The drive from the ferry at Durres to the capital Tirana was an experience in itself. Constantly escorted, armed soldier in the truck cab, many checkpoints, and being watched at our hotel.

Also I was in Leipzig on the night that the Berlin Wall was first breached in 1989/

Belarus and Moldova are quite unusual countries to visit too, don’t you think so?

Yes I do, although Belarus was still part of the Soviet Union when I first visited. Moldova was and still is the poor relation of the European family.

Why did you go there? (Never mind, I see you’re Polish, so it’s nearby.)
