What do you Think about Tennessee?

Submitted by MaverickBraxton on October 20, 2025
Hello everyone.

I am from Tennessee (I live near Nashville) and I wanted to know what people think of it there. I think it is a very beautiful state with mostly nice people. One place I wish people knew about in Tennessee is Dale Hollow. It is a cool lake that my family goes to sometimes and I have many good memories there. We also have the Smoky Mountains which are fun to hike in. Garrett Crochet is also from here and he is an awesome pitcher for the Red Sox.

I think of the Great Smokey Mountains and a lot of hills. I generally love images from Tennessee. What do you think about West Virginia (The state I am from)

West Virginia seems similar to Tennessee in a lot of ways. I would like to go there sometime. I honestly don't know much about it there other than "Country Roads"...

If you ever visit West Virginia, you should visit the New River Gorge, it is absolutely beautiful. I am from Berkeley County, WV and I plan to never live outside West Virginia (I really want to move to Davis, WV)

Earliest I can find so far is 1996 in an old usenet group listing 267 pickup lines.

It feels like Tennessee got really "hot" in the last decade or so. There are lots of people moving there from other states, and for some reason country music is more popular now than it's ever been.

I haven't been to Tennessee for a long time, but when I visited I thought that the Smoky Mountains were beautiful.

I went to Nashville last year and it was great. I went to a restaurant on broadway and listened to some really good live music.

The state is very nice. Beautiful scenery, great food, nice vibes and especially good music. Also home to the only state capitol where a president is interred.

If you're referring to the team, though, hope y'all are happy with last Saturday's game. 🤘😎

First thoughts about the state of Tennessee are usually regarding Tennessee's Northern borders (36 30 parallel, Kentucky Bend, Kentucky Lake, etc) along with the Great Smoky Mountains and nearby places (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood).

-

All in all, Tennessee is certainly an interesting state to see, and I hope to return back someday.

-

Now, thoughts on the state of Maryland? (Current residing state)

The first thing that popped into my mind when I thought of Tennessee was Jack Sucks At Geography learning a mnemonic about it where he was saying it looked like a KFC plate (since Kentucky is above Tennesse)...

I'm from Saint Pete FL, and moved to West Tennessee in May, 2023.

I've been to a variety of cities here, spanning all the way from Memphis to Pigeon Forge.

I think TN has a very specific look to it, and it's very beautiful.

Beautiful sunsets, perfect weather, nice people, the list goes on.

Fall is my favorite time of the year currently because of how beautiful TN gets during October and November.

You can really see the fall aspect of things here, rather than a huge city, like where I used to live in St. Pete FL
