What is 67 and why is everyone saying it?

I hear 67 recently and I find it annoying, what’s the origin?

It’s a viral stupid meme. Some guy does 6… 7…Like he’s weighing them on scales. It’s a reference to some rap song that mentions the height of a basketball player.

It’s actually a lot of fun to make the kids cringe when you do the memes. Kids in my community are pretty good though. :)

That being said, I half jokingly told my class that I hate their generation when they told me what a point five is.

It is so annoying to teachers to the point where they tried to ban the word.

Why is 6 afraid or 7? Because 7 ate 9!

Why was 6 afraid of 7?

Because 7 tried to run over 6 with their car.

The best is when you as a teacher do it so the students don’t know for sure you’re doing the meme.

Canada attacked Vimy Ridge in 19… oh god, 1916… 1917… 16… 17… 6… 7… 6… 7… 1917! I’ll double check later.

It's an absurdist commentary on how society deifies people who are tall (hence, 6'7"), handsome, etc., while spurning those who are unfortunate enough to be just average. Hence, by endlessly repeating the meme, people are laughing in the face of a society that despises them, boldly proclaiming that they can see behind the veil and are ready to reshape the world from the ground up.

What a ridiculously victimized and sad thought process to take with you through life.

Had to scroll to the bottom to get the real answer.

I feel like heightism didn't use to be a huge thing before dating apps. I had a friend in college who was like 5'4" and extremely popular with his female classmates. So glad I grew up in the 1990s and not now.

that persons reading into it too much, its just a new funny number. no one is thinking abt lamello ball’s height and height in society when spamming 6-7. i would say most ppl dont know/care for the origin in basketball edits. and further the meme has mostly passed over

I don't think it's changed. Perhaps your perspective is skewed from stories online. There are some really short guys in my fraternity who do just fine. I think it's just those Tinder horror stories on reddit that make people think 'heightism' is a big issue.

I also find it extremely annoying. I bet if QM didn't make people need to be level 15 to comment, JetPunk would be full of irritating memes and pop-culture...

Oh no, JP would be full of pop culture! How many song, sport, and general trivia/knowledge quizzes are there again?

Just because you don't get the joke/its not funny to you doesn't mean it isn't funny to someone else.

I guess so... I just have a friend that would probably leave memes all over this site. (To me it's a relief he's still on level 14)

I'm amazed by how every thing can become a meme on Tiktok. The 2020 youth is a real mystery to me, but I like to stay aware of this strange world just to avoid staying on the sidelines. So thanks for the explanation!

It's basically started with some random kid saying 6..7.. and it went viral.

At my school I hear 6,7 like 20 times every day.

The 67 kid is the kid who started the meme.

People are asking what it is, and when I say its just a meme they don't accept it
