As most of you know, snow is gradually becoming more scarce. Even places like NYC, which used to have snowy winters regularly, are now facing shorter snow seasons. I'm aware that artificial snow is mostly used, but it will never fully replace natural snow.
I also think the price of coffee is going to skyrocket due to rising temperatures.
Another thing I’m concerned about is fish. Here in the UK, I’ve noticed that some supermarkets have stopped selling mackerel due to overfishing.
Then there are technological factors. With AI and a growing surveillance culture, privacy is becoming increasingly rare.
Some future luxuries may actually be low-tech things, like owning physical books.
What do you think? Would love to hear your predictions
Arguably, post-secondary education is already a luxury good as it is mostly just expensive social signalling.
(this of course excludes kids who might need said device to function properly)
Tech objects will be seen as lower class.
We're already seeing that shift where the lower classes are more addicted to video games and TikTok while rich people exist in the real world more. Rich parents keep their kids away from devices. Poor parents let the iPad do the parenting.
That being said, I agree on the screens thing: the more educated you are, the less your children spend time before screens.
In this logic, children reading books will be rare.
The will, grit and the resources to have both fresh air and fresh water are needed, obviously.
