I am from Hedgesville, West Virginia. We contain Snodgrass Tavern which was visited by George Washington and Henry Clay. We also have the Dr. Allen C. Hammond House which was used by both the CSA and USA during the Civil War. Fort Hedges was built by Washington. We were also a very important place during the Civil War due to location
Zagreb, Croatia: supposedly shortest public furnicular line in the world. It was under maitenance several weeks ago when I passed by, not sure whether it still is. That reminds me, our cathedral is under restoration since 1989 due to corrosive stones its facade is made from. 2020 earthquakes significantly downgraded the progress.
Melbourne - Known for being the most livable city for a bunch of years, longest consecutive lockdown, lack of bad coffee (starbucks), and has a bunch of excellent local coffee...
My town has been in existence since at least Roman times and probably longer than that, so at least 2000 years. It supplied salt to the Roman garrison at Deva (now Chester).
It has one of the highest concentrations of listed buildings in England. (listed means it is protected from demolition and change, and is of historic importance.) We have at least two pubs that are older than the USA!
The town's church, built in the 14th century has been labelled "The Cathedral of South Cheshire".
