Why isn’t there a designated space to submit interesting facts

It feels kinda weird that people have to use the comments of interesting facts to suggest more bc the daily trivia is similar but it has a designated area to suggest them. I feel like a specific area to submit them could allow for comments on the interesting facts to actually be about the facts and perhaps could make facts easier to get displayed.

Sadly, I don't really like user-submitted facts.

One big problem is that people don't adequately fact check.

Another problem is that many people Google "interesting facts" and then just repost those instead of sharing things they've stumbled upon through reading or other sources.

one problem i think the IFG solves is the “google fact copyposting”. i notice plenty of people in the comments of the facts pages do this copy and paste thing, but it doesn’t often happen in the IFG. if someone posts a really commonly known google fact in the IFG, it usually either gets pointed out or simply receives little to no attention.

As one of the Interesting Facts Group moderators, I can tell you that we'd absolutely love a dedicated system for this. We do have an issue with people not properly checking their facts, as Quizmaster said earlier, so some such function may have to be restricted a a handful of trusted users, (like us four group moderators!) so the facts are guaranteed to be okay.

You can definitely join the IF Group, we'd love to have you there! As for why people are still using the comments, there are a certain few users who refuse to join for some reason and they leave comments there. Unfortunately that drives up comment numbers and makes it harder for people to get facts on
