The thing is simple: you're stuck on a desert island for the rest of your life. You can bring just 1 thing by category. What would you chose?

Categories are:

- 1 book/book series

- 1 movie

- 1 singer/composer/band album(s)

- 1 cuisine type you'll eat every day (e.g., Indian cuisine, Mexican cuisine)

In my case, I would certainly bring:

- Musashi: An Epic Novel of the Samurai Era

- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

- Renaud discography

- Lebanese cuisine

-Encyclopedia of some sort

-Cast Away (maybe get some tips)

-The Beatles (10 albums+ of bangers)

-Italian (defo the goat of cuisines imo)

I could have said the Beatles too. Plenty of great songs with a wide variety of styles. Enough to keep you busy for a very long time, without getting bored! I approve :)

Book - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy

Movie - Shawshank Redemption

Music - Eagles or Lynyrd Skynyrd (both rock country fusion, best of both worlds)

Cuisine - Chinese (hopefully from my local takeaway)

Book: Shelby Foote's series on the Civil War, since it'd last me a good while. I don't really get why everyone is saying an encyclopedia. Sure, you might learn a lot… but so what? It wouldn't have any practical use on the island, and, at least for me, reading a ton of short blurbs would just be boring.

Movie: I'm not sure. I don't really watch movies. Maybe a documentary of some sort?

Artist: I'm split between John Denver and Southall. Probably Denver.

Cuisine: southern cuisine, any day.

I thought the same thing about the encyclopedia. It is purely factual knowledge, which would certainly keep someone busy for a good while, but what's the point? i'd rather take some reading including a spiritual side.

- Book: The Little Prince. Not my favourite book but I would have something to think about. I excluded my old Narnia books with the seven stories because I guess it's cheating in such a situation.

- Movie: Nausicäa of the Valley of Wind. I've realised that I rewatch way more easily animated movies than live action movies. So even if there are live action movies I love, that's the choice I would make (Princess Mononoke and Your Name. would have been good choices too, I actually watch this last more or less every two months).

- Singer: Toby Fox discography (same, not my favourite at all but something for most of my moods)

- Cuisine: French cuisine. Not original but definitely a good choice if I have to eat it everyday. And I can't live without roquefort. I guess that Japanese cuisine would have come next.

For the movie, I was also considering Princess Mononoke too. This is one of the best animated movie ever created imo. I can watch it once a year and still be amazed and moved by both the quality of the animation and the poetic treatment of this fable.
