The scale of Chinese civilization during this period was incredible. One million people were employed building the Forbidden City. That's nearly half the entire population of England during the same period.

The Yongle encyclopedia was 370 million Chinese characters. That's over five times the size of Encyclopædia Britannica. Sadly, most of it has been lost.

I misread the O question as "which emperor", not "which empire", which led to several seconds of trying to figure out how "Mehmed" could possibly begin with an O. Like Qikiq, I blame Monday morning.

+1 I tried azincourt, didnt work, I looked on internet if I spelled it wrong, I got all azincourt back and that the city is called azincourt ( and I have the google settings on english, not my own language, because the international searchresults usually fits better with what I am looking for than the local one). So I discounted it. Guess I can't trust the internet anymore ;)

The Ulm Minster was never the World's tallest building, that was the Eiffel Tower at the time. It was and still is the tallest church tower, though.

The Eiffel Tower is not a building.

Basically, this.

As per the Wiki page on the History of the world's tallest buildings, the term "building" is not uncontested, but going strictly by the CTBUH definitions, churches and cathedrals are generally considered to count, whereas towers like the Eiffel Tower (or, later, the CN Tower) are not.

Which makes the Ulm Cathedral the world's tallest building by most accounts.

@stalintime does have a reasonable argument, but is fighting an uphill battle, and is unlikely to get most people to agree with them, given that the closest thing to an authority on the matter also doesn't.

And neither was the Ulm Cathedral, which was completed in 1890. It was started (i.e.: consecrated, as per the question) in the 15th century, but was not the tallest anything at that time, and would not be for many centuries.

Azincourt should really be accepted. Agincourt is the historic English name, but the name Azincourt is used both back then and currently in French. Both spellings are used in different countries:

English: Battle of Agincourt

French: Bataille d'Azincourt

German: Schlacht von Azincourt

Spanish: Batalla de Azincourt

Portuguese: Batalha de Azincourt

Polish: Bitwa pod Azincourt

Finnish: Azincourtin taistelu

Every other quiz on Jetpunk I've ever done where Leonardo da Vinci is the answer shows it as Leonardo da Vinci, therefore in an alphabetical quiz, it would be under "D". Why is this one different? I've never seen him referred to only as Leonardo anywhere else except this.
