Looks like the threshold for 5 points has gone up. Somehow I was able to get 38, which seems to meet that requirement. Please don't let it need to be more than that in the future!!
John Denver wrote a nice song about WV...I've driven through it, pretty state, wondered about so many 'Byrd' named highways, rest areas. I think he was pretty good at getting federal funds to help through the declining coal industry. Plus good music comes out of Appalachia!
I've tried this quizz a few times, and my best score is 33/50 states. I did not know that the quiz accepted abreviations for some states.
My main issue is that I tend to spell incorrectly. So I lose the time of typing the worng word, checking where the mistake was, and then having to delete the word and retype.
I wonder if I can do the quizz, with no spelling mistakesm and using the State's full names, under one minute?
Finally completed after 47 attempts, and many, many years on this site. Would always get around 44-48, those damn New England state names are wayyyyy too long
Finally got it after 72 complete attempts and many many more incomplete ones. As a tip, these are all the type-ins that save characters: conneticut ilinos loisiana masachusets minesota misisipi misuri nh nj nyc pensylvania roadisland tenesee.
nyc should probably not be a type-in for New York state, but abuse it while you can.
optimally remember the first few and don't refer to the map
washingtonoregoncalifornianevada,
montanaidahonorthdakotasouthdakota,
wyomingcoloradoutaharizonanewmexico,
texasnebraskakansasoklahoma.
that's the entire west complete.
remember a part in one chunk, which hopefully leaves you with enough time to finish the east (which I haven't thought off strategies yet) but still remember have a good grasp on what you need to type
Iv'e tried every strategy but I still can't get more then 45. I think the problem is I'm just not good at typing and I frequently make typos that I have to spend a second to correct.
I love this quiz!!! I've taken about a hundred tries but I finally did them all in 57 seconds!!! My fingers hurt so much. I love doing all the US quizzes and I love typing fast so this quiz is perfect. Quizmaster is one of the best!!!
Took 4 tries to get it, but I've been practicing typing for two months now. I tried this test in high school and it took multiple periods worth of time to beat.
its impossible
You scored 50/50 = 100%
0.5% of test takers also scored 100%
The average score is 21
Your high score is 50
Your fastest time is 0:52

The trick is to learn sequences instead of individual states.
Like, I don't even see Washington or Oregon, the west coast is just one big state called "washingtonoregoncalifornianevada"
Then you have "Idahomontanawyomingutaharizona"
The whole texas region is "texasnewmexicolouisianaoklahoma"
anyways tips:
