I did terribly on this quiz. Big 8, Big 10, Big 12 - it is too confusing. And Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas State and Villanova are all the Wildcats?

The Big 8 was Colorado, Iowa St., Kansas, Kansas St., Mizzou, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oklahoma St.

They became the Big XII with the absorption of Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech after the collapse of the Southwest Conference, which cut loose Arkansas, Houston, Rice, SMU and TCU.

Arkansas had already left the Southwest Conference (joining the SEC) by the time the Big XII was created.

The conferences need entirely new names. I cringe over universities belonging conferences that can't count or use a compass. The NCAA is such a joke.
