How is it possible that Branson, Missouri has such a low population? It's supposed to be redneck Vegas, isn't it?

They don't count tourists in the census. If you've ever tried to drive on Hwy 76 you'd guess the population at around a million.

I live in Missouri and I've been all over the place and I still couldn't get some of the big ones. How could I forget the state capital, or some of the bigger suburbs of St. Louis?

When I went to college in St. Louis I lived in both Clayton and U City. If you had asked me before this quiz which one was more likely to make the list, I would have told you the wrong one.

Same here. When Clayton didn't work I didn't even try U City. Can't believe I forgot Florrisant but I never heard of Wildwood.

As the county seat, Clayton has a lot of government offices. It also houses a number of related services like law firms. It's very busy during the day. But its actual residential population isn't that large (about 16,000).

Judging by the low percentages for correct guesses, not many people know a lot of cities in Missouri (including me).

No. (My answer to the question "Can you name the 20 biggest cities in Missouri?"). Not even one. Though I should have guessed a Springfield.
