I agree that it is a poor clue. "Texas Tech" would have been a better one.

Definitely. Plenty in Lubbock more than cotton, and plenty of cotton elsewhere in Texas.

Home town of Mac Davis. Even had a hit song about how at one time, "happiness was Lubbock, Texas in my rearview mirror."

Several suburban neighborhoods outside of Baton Rouge, La incorporated in 2005 and named the new town Central City. Now that is one of the most boring names ever. It sounds like a soap opera or comic book town.

Lakewood is a suburb of denver. Also LA and Tacoma have a suburb named Lakewood. Probably a few others I am missing as well

Denver has way too many suburbs that begin with the letter L. We eventually just started calling all of them "one of the L towns".
