It's too bad that San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Monica all start with an S.

Stockton, Shasta, Sausalito, Saugus, San Isidro, Suisun City, Sierra City, Sierraville (the last two require a visit to the boondocks--worth the trip).

I would have gone with Davis for D. Used to live there. Nice town. Or Dixon where I used to work. Then I wouldn't have missed that one. :( Couldn't remember Daly City.

21 but I do live here. Couldn't think of King City, Joshua Tree or Quartz Hill. Could have gone with Discovery Bay for D as well. Great little community. By the way kalbahamut, I grew in Green Valley. Between Fairfield & Napa. 25 minutes to Dixon and a touch more to Davis.

Nice area all around. I'm originally from the Northern VA/Washington DC area, but I spent about 3 months living in San Pablo/Richmond and a year and a half in Davis. I worked for a while at the Denny's in Dixon. Don't eat there.

There is a Zzyzx, CA. Just thought I'd mention it since the Z was blank.

I love the backstory on Zzyzx, too. Really neat history. It is not incorporated but there is a CSU Desert Studies Center there and people do visit that and the site. It's pronounced so it rhymes with "Isaacs." :-)

And if the Warriors aren't "Oakland" enough to be mentioned in that connection, then you could include the Oakland Oaks of the ABA, who absconded to DC in 1969 and renamed themselves the Washington Caps (not to be confused with the Washington Capitals of the NHL or the Washington Wizards of the NBA, who used to be the Baltimore Bullets and before that the Chicago Zephyrs, or with the Flint Tropics). The Caps later became the Virginia Squires, who featured Dr. J; the Squires expired just before the ABA merged with the NBA.

The Oaks actually were good once. Unfortunately "once" meant "for one year," not "once upon a time."

Couple corrections:

1. Oakland also lost the Warriors to San Francisco in 2019

2. Riverside is not the largest city in the IE, San Bernardino is.

3. The Richard Nixon presidential library is in Yorba Linda, not Whittier

1. We never said it didn't. Left out because it was never really an "Oakland" team

2. Riverside is correct.

Spent a year in Twentynine Palms. There’s a ton of really cool nature out there but the heat is horrible. Left my car out in the sun all day one time and came back to see that my seatbelt had melted. Would still take it over anywhere in the LA area
