I was stuck on every other Friday - at our office, it is known as Flex Day, since you can work 9 days of 9 hours each and take off every other Friday.

It's been so long since I got paid on a biweekly basis I was at a complete loss for that one.

Same. Flex day, flexi day, rostered day off. Very, very common rostering practice.

Also, is getting paid every second Friday an American thing? Or a "paid in cash" thing? Here in Australia no particular day of the week is associated with payday.

I had a brain fart on "Día de los Muertos" and typed in "All Saints Day"--and it awarded me credit for the Mormons question!

Dia de los Muertos literally means, "Day of the Dead" in Spanish. I don't see how it could mean anything else.

The "payday" one has to be a US thing? I dont know anyone who is/ ever has been paid fortnightly.

I don't know if it's only a US thing, but it is definitely a thing here. It's very common for people to be paid every two weeks (usually every other Friday) or twice a month (say, on the 15th and the 30th).

i am from the netherlands and i have never heard of getting paid twice a month. here it's either weekly (very rare), every four weeks or just once a month. every other friday is so alien to me haha.

Yeah same here in the UK, usually monthly, occasionally weekly. Never fortnightly.

In NZ I’d say most people are paid fortnightly - but I don’t think I’ve ever had a payday on a Friday!

In Canada, I've always been paid fortnightly, but it was always on Wednesday. Now it's Tuesday. In my profession, the thing that happens every other Friday is Compressed Day. You work an extra hour the rest of the time to get a day off every two weeks.

For the November one, I tried "voting" and "Super Tuesday" before finally remembering the exact nomenclature.

I guess it's not always Super Tuesday...
