At least in Bulgaria, in all schools the students are taught these blood elements are called thrombocytes. Never knew there is another word for this.

As a Brit I feel incredibly stupid for not realising the 1707 question, I knew I had heard of it before but immediately started trying things like Castile and Aragon whilst ignoring the obvious.

what about Fibrinogen or Fibrin for blood clotting? or else modify the question to make it clearer your are specifically looking for platelets.
