Interspersed trees do not seem at all to be what distinguishes a savanna from a steppe; either tweak the clue or permit steppe.

You're not making a convincing case. Maybe suggest what does distinguish savanna from steppe and provide some evidence.

FTR, I believe the clue is correct. The definition of savanna I'm familiar with includes 1-10 trees per acre. Steppe is virtually devoid of woody plants.

I second that steppe should also be allowed: as per the definition savanna is one of different types of steppe ecosystems, so every savanna is a steppe but not every steppe is a savanna... :-)

Spitsbergen is just one of the islands within the archipelago. As the questions asks specifically for the name of the archipelago, Spitsbergen wouldn't be correct.

Spitzbergen should be accepted - but not Spitsbergen, as that's just one island in the archipelago called Spitzbergen :)
