Love living in Britain, climbing the tallest mountain really isn't much more than an exhausting day trip and bragging rights for the next year:)

It's the same in Australia, just a good walk up and back, beaut views from the top though (same for Ben Nevis)

Where I am, climbing the tallest mountain nearby involves a lot of cold and not a lot of oxygen (not that I've done it), and that mountain is not even half the height of Everest.

Aye. I also went up the highest peak in Belgium - drove up it by car! It's basically just a flat car park.

I was disappointed that Mars wasn't one of the categories. Olympus Mons has to be more well known than some of these.

Ditching Mt Mitchell for Olympus Mons would be an improvement, I feel.

Is there a reason anyone can tell me why Everest is listed as 'Earth' and not Nepal?

It's probably because "highest mountain on earth" sounds more impressive (and it's more descriptive) that "highest mountain in Nepal." BTW, it's also in China...

Puncak is a term for "peak". So "Jaya" on its own must work.

If we were speaking Indonesian, but in English puncak does not mean peak. Any tautologous names are common in a lot of languages, including English.

This quiz features 6 mountains in the USA. That's a bit ridiculous, unless you include one for each state of Australia too.

Well the USA has 13x the population of Australia...

So if the USA has 6, you should just be happy Australia got rounded up to be included.

Still, this page is an American one, so the users on this page are more than 4% Americans, so the interests might be slightly more from an American point of view and answers might always remain more US-centric (I like this expression!) than the average. For sure, most non-geographic quizzes would be a lot easier for me, too. Anyway, I still like playing them ;-)

That's such a dumb argument. There are none in India, the most populated country. Denali and maybe Whitney should be included, and we can stretch that to Rainier and Mauna Kea as well but the other two are pushing it. Sad to see that USA gets 6 yet 3 continents go with 1 or fewer
