It's a horror movie.

That's sort of the point.

(She freaks me out too, and I haven't even seen it!)

Oh trust me. I can get over other scary movies, but "The Ring" left me scared for YEARS.

movie makeup has certainly gotten better over the years because samara is evil and extremely creepy but Daveigh Chase is quite pretty

The Exorcist still freaks me out the most for some reason. Maybe because I first saw it when I was way too young.

The Ring offends me with it's boringness and dumb premise. The Exorcist makes me laugh.

Some people aren't easily scared, at least by horror movies. Or they're not really into suspension of disbelief. I'm maybe on kal's level but I'm not very interested in the horror part so yeah, I might also look more at the story which can be often extremely stupid in genre movies.

What Djilas said. If a movie doesn't have something more going for it besides creepiness, gore, or jump scares I am going to be bored because movies don't scare me. I enjoy those that have a decent plot, or self-aware humor, good action sequences, or that can be enjoyed for other reasons beyond the scares, like Scream, Alien, Aliens, The Shining, Jurassic Park, or Cabin in the Woods. I liked all of those movies.

Many of the things people are scared of (ghosts, the devil, witches, vampires) are inherently silly and so many horror movies end up themselves being very silly and hard to take seriously. I realize this may seem strange coming from someone who enjoys watching Marvel movies. I have no ready explanation for that. I think perhaps it has to do with how horror movies often take themselves so seriously. That's usually when they become ridiculous.

some day I'll be as cool as you and parrot trendy but asinine phrases to try and put down strangers on the Internet, and type "your" as "ur" so everyone can see how pressed for time I am because of the long list of awesome things I've got to do apart from trying to insult random people online. That's my end goal.

I've never seen Child's Play, but I gave it a shot with the only one I had heard of, Bride of Chucky. I wasn't a bit surprised when it wasn't accepted.

It always kind of bugs me when Hannibal Lecter is put down on villain lists.

He's a villain to some, sure, but he's not THE villain.

Buffalo Bill never gets the credit he deserves!

I have a hard time putting Hannibal Lecter in the "horror villians" basket. In that the books and movies are thrillers rather than strictly horror. I guess you could point out horror themes within some thriller movies (Se7en for example) but for me horror movies generally fit the criteria so brilliantly examined in the "Scream" movies.

I'm 12 and I got all of them. Then again I LOVE horror but it's weird how supernatural things I'm scared of more than things that could actually kill me like a murderer. :/

I am a fan of horrors and looking at the comments I think you can divide the horror genre in to various types .the realistic ( could happen ) /serial killer type ,silence of lambs , Texas chainsaw psycho ,misery etc . the supernatural , exorcist ,omen etc .the comedy horror ,scream evil dead series and the just plain stupid ( too many to mention ) but no horror movie can be as ridiculous as the over hyped superhero rubbish that let's admit nobody over the age of 18 should really be into.

Managed to get them all, but struggled with The Ring. I've only watched the original Japanese version, so had to think laterally for this one. Loved watching these growing up, feel like having a fright fest now.
