Florida is questionable. According to the given definition in this quiz (area between 23.4 °N and 23.4 °S), it is not in the tropics. However, there are other more scientific definitions of the tropics which follow climatic criteria. According to many of those the southernmost part of Florida (Florida Keys, Everglades, Miami area) is in the tropics.
I always learned that a rough estimate of the tropics is at the southern tip of Florida so I was considering it until I read the caveat about the entire area being inside or outside
It’s Aug here in Florida and I promise you, it’s the tropics. It might not officially be in the tropics but I know what 2 different rain storms today, 90+ degrees and 75% humidity is and it’s tropics! Lol
