On a small screen, its virtually impossible to see Baltimore versus Washington--might be combined like LA/Anaheim.

^ Agreed. Just no. You should NOT combine DC and Baltimore

DC to Baltimore in a straight line is 35 miles, Los Angeles to Anaheim 25, Dallas to Fort Worth 33, Seattle to Tacoma 25, San Francisco to San Jose 43. A lot can be said for DC and Baltimore forming one polycentric urban area. There's no distinguishing the continuous development midway as being part of the urban area of one over the other.

should they mix Chicago and Milwaukee too then?

Chicago to Milwaukee is not really the same. When you're going to Milwaukee from Chicago, there is a clear (and considerable) area where the Chicago metro area has stopped. It's sparsely-populated farmland. You don't get that with Baltimore to DC. It's built up and populous all the way from one to the other.

That was my biggest problem, too (managed to guess right, though). Are we able to zoom somehow?

However, if you know your geography, DC is south of Baltimore.

Should have known Houston was on the water because of their NASA connection. Washington and Baltimore are too close together to sort out on a map this size.

Washington, D.C. is south of Baltimore, so that would tell you the Nationals' dot would appear below the Orioles' dot. If you knew that.

Strange: on my iPhone I can select all both columns down to the white sox and Red Sox. None of the teams below those can be clicked.

It pains me to say this as a big time baseball fan but unfortunately it's time to separate the Giants and Athletics now that they don't play in the Bay Area together anymore
