Only got the painting wrong, my trip to Madrid was fairly memorable. Actually went to the Valley of the Fallen when Franco's remains were still there, it was kinda grotesque just seeing the grave marker with no mention of the things he'd done, even more grotesque to see fresh flowers laid there, I left in a hurry despite the beauty of the cathedral.

My grandfather fought on the government’s side, as he was doing his national service at the time. He had a piece of shrapnel in his wrist for his whole life. The civil war continues to divide Spaniards to this day, with many older folk reminiscing about the “good old days” while others suggest they either have short memories or perma-rose-tinted glasses. He may not have been Adolph or Benito, but was still responsible for countless deaths and a devastating civil war. Good riddance to him
