I think that outside of the USA, St Louis is no longer very well known. It’s only from JP that I know anything about it really

The question about the brewery is not correct. The brewery was already 25 years old in 1876 and the brewery had been know as some form of Anheuser since 1860. In 1879 it was finally named Anheuser Busch. 1876 was when they brewed their first Budweiser which was their first full European style pilsner.
