General suggestion: in quizzes like this, where the quiz maker can basically make it as long or as short as he/she wants, I'm always very grateful when there are at least 20 questions. This allows quiz takers to get the full 5/5 points for 95% correct, even if they miss one question. Thanks!
i think you should make brazaville available for the capital with a person name question because it's named after the italian founder Pietro Savorgnan di Brazzà
I learn a lot from these quizzes, even when I don't get all the answers. Is there any way to expand the +5 or +7 and others in the answers to read further options?
+2! I was coming here to write the same comment. I understand why the QM doesn't list all the possible answers in the quiz per say, but it would be nice if we had them all in the "Answer stats" section (as is the case in some other quizzes). Great quiz, by the way! Love the "Name a valid..." series. :)
You are missing a lot of capitals named for persons born after 1500 A.D. I may miss some as well but (excluding Washington D.C.), I count 15+2: Brazzaville, Castries, Gaborone, Georgetown, Malabo, Mbabane, Monrovia, Nur-Sultan, Port Louis, Port Moresby, Pretoria, Valletta, Victoria, Wellington, Yamoussoukro; and in addition, Bendar Seri Begewan and Nassau are potential candidates.
Ukraine now wants Kiev to be pronounced the Ukrainian way (key-iv) rather than the Russian way (key-ev). The English mangling of the Ukrainian pronunciation is closest to keev, a single syllable. Tough call on that one.
I've been to Quito- beautiful mountain setting; and lived in Lima, where it so rarely rains that when it does, it's a disaster. BUT I missed both questions about elevation and rain......hello, brain, where are you?
I don't like questions that have only one correct answer in this type of quiz (independent in 1 A.D.). What's the point of having a "valid category," if the question functions the same as any other normal quiz.
Kyiv should be accepted for the one syllable question. Although it can be pronounced with two syllables (KEE-ev or KEE-yiv) the most correct pronunciation--and the preferred one in Ukraine as I understand it--is KEEV.
Up until 2022, it was pronounced in English as "Key-ev". Then, when Ukraine was invaded, there was this big shift where all of a sudden people started pronouncing it as "Keev".
Also they started spelling it as Kyiv instead of Kiev. Take that, Putin!
Whether people agree with the politics or not, Jerusalem is the de facto capital. The Israeli Parliament, Supreme Court, and Prime Minister’s residence are all located there. It physically functions as the capital.
- São Tomé, capital of São Tomé and Príncipe honors the apostle São Tomé.
What is the source for this quiz?

We will accept Kyiv/Kiev for that now.
