I believe Atlanta was actually ordered burned by the Confederate General John Bell Hood before his Army retreated from the city at the end of August, 1864.
Grew up in Atlanta. In my 55 years I have never heard that nickname. Ever. Not once. A far more common one is "The city to busy to hate." Or "The Crossroads of the South."
Been to Atlanta more times than I can count and I have never heard of that nickname. It's a cinch to figure out because the other 3 are easily eliminated but that's besides the point.
We will likely call you Atlanta
Wasn't familiar with the actual Atlanta nickname but got it pretty easily by process of elimination.
