Darfur is a region of Sudan, not South Sudan.

South Sudan's independence is separate from the Darfur conflict.

A glaring omission is West Papua. Also, Aceh, New Caledonia and possibly Mindanao.

I can see three of these happening in the next half a decade. Two are sort of okay-ed already and one receiving a whole lot of, as they choose to call it, strong silent support (from govt level).

You could easily do a part two for this quiz! Somaliland is another pretty big separatist movement, and you could do South Ossetia, Azawad (I heard it was kinda relevant in Mali), Zanzibar, Hawaii even. There are a lot of possible options to choose from honestly, especially since lots of people in the comments are mentioning more.

Missed the last 3 but I was sooooo close on the last one. >_< I even guessed Georgia and Armenia immediately before time ran out.

I'll always remember Transnistria as the one place in the world I tried to drive my car through that would not accept my paperwork (upon entering; Serbia accepted it upon entering and then decided to not accept it when exiting as a pretext to steal it). I had to drive around the "country" on my way to Ukraine. Added about 20 minutes to my trip time.

Upper Silesia? I am from Poland and, yes, there is some organisation that wants independence, but it's marginal. I may as well want the independence of my fridge, and I will have exactly the same influence as they.

There is more popularity towards autonomy among them, but it's still absolutely marginal and has 0 chance of happening.

Hong Kong should be in the list. There is now a pseudo national anthem, political prisoners, asylum seekers in exile in Germany, and it's being regarded as a failed state by the media.

Tamil Nadu doesn't really fit in here, unless you have very loose definition of 'Separatist Movement' but even then there's a lot more places that should make it on this list before Tamil Nadu.

It would be more accurate to put Jammu & Kashmir for India+Pakistan.

Sekler Land (Székely Land) should be here. This territory belongs to Hungary and would like to tear from romania.

Nagorno-Karabakh calls itself "Artsakh" or the "Republic of Artsakh" now.

The only suggestion I can find that there's any kind of separatist movement in the Torres Strait is one advocating for the area to split from Queensland and become a federal territory like Christmas Island, not one advocating for full independence; and it's a couple of news articles that are eight years old, at that.

As an Australian I've never heard of the Torres Strait Island separatist movement.

I know many have already pointed out some flaws with some of the "separatist movements" here, but I'd like to add one more. The situation in Chiapas has NEVER even resembled anything close to a separatist movement. The EZLN have always stated they are a movement working towards NATIONAL LIBERATION. They have advocated for chages in Mexican society as a whole and only started defending small-scale autonomy as a means of resisting what they see as an undemocratic and illegitemate federal government. They have never advocated for independence in Chiapas as they don't even represent the state itself and only control portions of it. This is just confusing communal autonomy with separatism and these are two very different things.
