wow I did much worse on this than I thought I would, though I did manage to get the top 3. I knew all of those sell through the roof all around the world. I can't believe Prius is so high on the list!!! I guess I haven't been in the USA much in the last 4 years. Have sales gone up that much? It's also hard to believe Mustangs didn't make the list I see those ugly things everywhere. and many others I guessed that weren't included.
The Jetta sold in the US is a lousy vehicle compared to the Kia Optima. VW took all sorts of content out of it in the past few years and its handling and performance are mediocre as a result... Not only that, but for the popular trim lines, the Optima can equal the mpg of the Jetta and the prices are very similar, too...
In the autoworld, VW's moves have been referred to as a "Beigekrieg" - meaning that they've been turning all of their cars "beige" - or boring, uninspiring, etc...
True, their European cars & American ones are different (American ones are literally built worse). Plus when they break, they BREAK & cost a bunch to repair. (We had a 2008 VW Passat 2.0T & the thing just became a burden)
If this quiz was for Saudi Arabia I'm pretty absolutely certain the Hyundai Accent (referred to unaffectionately by expats as the Hyundai Accident- it's apparently good for Saudi-style "drifting") would be #1, or perhaps the Toyota Hilux (small pick up truck that for some reason advertises its 160 HP as if that's a good thing... extremely popular with everyone from bedouin to members of ISIS). Other extremely popular brands include the Kia Rio, Nissan Sunny, Toyota Yaris, Dodge Charger, Corollas, Camrys, Elantras, and something called a Prado. Most popular brands are probably Toyota, Ford, and GMC though there are tons of Kias and Hyundais on the roads, too, because they sell for cheap. There is also kind of a cult following around the Chevy Caprice... from any year... they love this car for some reason, though they haven't yet figured out how to pronounce it.
Still, better to own it then lie about, pretending you are knowledgeable while you are not. A lotof things can go wrong when you pretendvto know certain things while in actual fact you dont, especially when you are an expert in the field (or at least supposed to be) (ow that bridge can definitely carry that weight, no that substance is not poisonous, I ve never had any cases, etc)
It is a bad trait I see all the time, sure bragging about lack of knowledge isnt charming, but atleast it is not harmfull.
I'm wondering how the list would look like for the EU - non-european cars are not so popular in my country. Shame our domestic automotive industry is almost extinct :(.
You must have misunderstood me :). I was referring to my country's industry only not the whole EU's. I'm pretty sure you are unable to name one polish car brand :).
Got 3 right, the Transit, Corolla and Civic. Some of the lowest scorers too. Never heard of any of the other in the UK, gave up after trying all of our models.
Because of subsidies in a lot of states Teslas really aren’t that expensive - I know people in California that have been able to get them new for only about $20k
Just two things is all. One, Ram is it's own brand, but it's already kinda in the comments. And two, the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are two separate models. The Cherokee is Jeep's compact SUV, while the Grand Cherokee is Jeep's small midsize SUV, and the Grand Cherokee L is the large midsize. No worries though
Surprised a few Kia models didn't make the list, especially relative to other makes/models (like Subaru), since they've certainly seen a spike in popularity and use in recent years. Looks like they were just under the cut-off.
Saying that RAM is still part of Dodge is like saying that South Sudan is still part of Sudan — RAM has completely separated from Dodge and is its own thing now. This happened twelve years ago. Come on now.
I totally understand this complaint, just wondering what then should be in the Make/Model portion? If Ram is now the make rather than the model, what is the model? If you look at the source website, it just says "Ram pickup", so is "pickup" the answer for the question? Maybe QM has just left it because there isn't an easy way to configure it.
Wow, nothing to do with the cars here in Brazil (except for corolla and civic). Here, we have GM (montana, onix, prisma, agile), Volks (gol, golf, saveiro), Fiat (strada, uno, palio) and ford (fiesta, ranger). Of course, also hyundai, honda, toyota, peugeot, citroen, jeep and mitsubishi.

here it is
There's a building near my house with 4 parking spots with 4 different tenants. All four are Subaru Outbacks.
