Wow. The 2000's were full of a lot of crap.

So is every other decade

Not much great stuff but less crap than the 2010s imo. I guess the total numbers of songs keep going up, while the number of good ones per year/decade sort of stays steady.

are you sure about that, the 2010s are terrible music wise.

Modest Mouse, yeah yeah yeahs, and the kilers were gems, however. Most of the other music was quite forgettable. The best era for music of all types was really 1988-2006, and that's quite broad

100% with only :13 to spare. I had to dig waaaaaaay back into the recesses of my mind to remember some of these terribly unmemorable songs, lmao

Agreed, the entire 2000's is probably the worst decade of music ever....

@pmack18: I have to disagree with you. The 80's had to be the worst decade for music!

Is there anywhere on the Internet that isn't taken over by "wrong generation"ers? Even jetpunk isn't safe, apparently, from people who think music ended after 2000. Music is the same as it's always been, there's terrible music and there's absolutely amazing music. If you're complaining about music "going downhill", what you really need to do is open your ears.

Agreed! there are always good artists making good music, sometimes you just have to look. And every generation in history has looked at the art and music of their children and thought that it was bad. Every generation thinks that the next one is ruining the world.

There's definitely still great music being made, but you will rarely find it on the radio or the Billboard charts.

I would add to this my major gripe that people are always taking credit for their generation's music like they're responsible for the music. If you came of age when the Beatles or Nirvana were dominating the radio, it's a lucky coincidence, not something to brag about. I don't understand why these people brag about how great older music is when they had nothing to do with creating the music. If anything, younger generations getting into older music is impressive, because Pearl Jam, The Who, etc. aren't the big forces in pop music now. Younger people need to seek great music out and find it, which they do in large numbers.

This is the worst comments section I've ever seen.

"Kids in my generation always love these songs but I'm only seventeen and I know much better music"

Thought for a split second I got it wrong when "Kylie" wasn't accepted!

Strange to have to type out her full name.

Took me less than a minute to get all but one and gave up on it. Wouldn't have gotten it in an hour either.
