Vladivostok...really...spelled it with a "ck" at the end...wouldn't take it...but others on here have multiple spellings....whatever.

Disagree on that decision. It's a Slavic, not Germanic, city name so c would be pronounced as ts rather than k. "Vladivostotsk" is way too far off to be valid. Only notable Slavic city I can think of with "ck" is Plock, Poland which is pronunced Pwotsk.

I can never remember Gdansk because where I'm from it's still called Danzig.

In English (and of course Polish) for sure. But in, for example, German it's still Danzig. Even today. So if Carry is German then that's probably what would come to mind for them.

Judging by their profile Carry is indeed German

As Chinese I tried Xanadu for tons of times until I remembered Xi'an, where I once had a very unpleasant journey.

I improved my score from 16 to 25 on this quiz. I thought it was fairly easy, so I was surprised that 16 was my previous high. Then I looked back to see when I had last taken it. It was NINE years ago. I'm getting old...

Really enjoyed the quiz!

Gotta admit that I first thought of Salzburg, Stuttgart and Stockholm before Sydney... Which makes sense as they have famous opera houses as well, but unlike Sydney, I visited those houses myself!

Still a very cool quiz though :)

Never heard of U before. Got it with my first guess. Maybe because the architect of Brasilia had a German-sounding name?
