Interesting quiz. You have inadvertently given us the answer to one of the questions by putting the city in the question instead of the country (France).

Calais in 1940 wasn't a siege, it was a battle. I knew a chap who fought in it. He was captured and spent the next 5 years in a POW camp in Poland.
