Top 100 NBA Players 2026

Name the top 100 players in basketball for the 2025–26 season according to ESPN.
Doesn't include players expected to miss most or all of this season (Tyrese Haliburton, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, etc.)
This is probably the worst list ESPN's ever put out, I'm not exaggerating.

the recency bias towards the thunder by ESPN is diabolical. Jdub is a great player, but may possibly be becoming overrated.

Yeah, he has no business being above AD, Spida, DBook, and a few others, at least for me. Chet also is nowhere near the 24th-best player in the NBA, and Derrick White at 26th is just nasty

I think they're banking on PG returning fully healthy and to prime form, because he was excellent in 2024, which was his last season on the Clips. They don't want to assume he's washed already, only for him to come back and ball out. Then they'd look even dumber.

Of course he hasn't played this season yet so jury's still out on how good he is.

WHY IS JONAS VALENCUNAS ON THE LIST.

I don't actually think espn watches basketball, so many of these are so far off it has to be rage bait

JV is actually a really good player and probably deserving of being on this list. there are several other players who have no business being ranked here, as well as several omissions. no Benedict Mathurin? no Russ? no Shaeden Sharpe?

Russ probably didn't have a team when they compiled the list.

He's past his prime now, but what's crazy is that he had a case for best player in the league pretty much every year from 2006 to 2020. Absolute dominance.

Did I miss one, or are there no Washington Wizards on the list? A team without a single player in the top 100 is crazy.

I'm not saying there's an egregious omission, only that it's shocking how bad that team is.

That might actually be reasonable. I mean, CJ McCollum and Khris Middleton are looking kinda washed at this point... Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr have looked decent, but I'm not sure they've necessarily surpassed anyone on this list. And everyone else on the team has either been a mediocre player for years, or is too young or has logged too few minutes to really rank them.

I think CJ McCollum definitely deserves a spot over some here.

McCollum was easily top 50 for many years of his career, and even probably top 20 for a few seasons. But this list is just for this current season, and he's really looking pretty washed this year. That said, I wouldn't actually have any major objection to him being somewhere towards the end of this top 100 list... but I also don't think it's too outrageous to leave him off.

The only thing there is, if he was on the list when he's not even the best player on the Wizards, then you'd also probably have to put Kyshawn George and Alex Sarr on the list... and which 3 players would you drop to do that?

+1
Level 88

I got 82... largely from having the team names as a hint... I probably would have gotten like 50 without that. I think the names on this list are more or less reasonable, but the order in which they're ranked could, of course, be heavily argued, heh.

They need to let Draymond off these lists at some point, if he ever even deserved to be on. And Jimmy Butler, as much as I love him, is not a Top 50 player anymore, let alone 18th.
+1
Level 66
Nov 4, 2025
I disagree with both takes. Draymond is averaging very similar stats to what he was in his prime, and same goes for Jimmy. Sure neither are what they were 5-10 years ago but they are still very capable players and Golden State is doing very well.

If Jimmy was a consensus top 10 player averaging 20 7 6 he's definitely top 50 averaging 21 6 5.

#50 on this list is Kristaps Porzingis, who's currently averaging 18 7 3 and is injured almost all the time. Jimmy is definitely better than him.

Yeah, part of me thinks that they intentionally avoided him after all the controversy that he was in.

Though it could also be the fact that he was unsigned basically the entire offseason and they only put signed players on here. Russ isn't on this list either.

ESPN, this is crazy. First off, they need to grade defense, and there should not be this many western conference players in here. Western conference is getting glazed. Also LeBron is not the eighth best player in the league right now, he has a legacy but he is not 8 maybe like 30.
