Curious about the usage of the Habsburg Monarchy flag to represent Austria-Hungary instead of the civil ensign (which is usually used on JetPunk to represent them)?
I'm not really enough of an expert to say what should be used but reading the Wikipedia article it appears that the Civil Ensign was not the same as the national flag.
sorry for nitpicking, but Prussia should be in there somewhere shouldn't it? like Ottoman and Austria/Hungary, the elimination of empires which is my guess, what Germany sees.
Prussia was the dominant state within the German Empire, but it was not an independent country at the time. With the German unification of 1871, Prussia and the other German states had ceased to be independent countries and united unter Prussian leadership.
Yet another nitpick, I think the French flag should have a darker shade of blue, a navy tone more similar to that of the Romanian flag. The new flag design with a brighter blue was introduced only in the 1970, long after WWI, to reflect the color of the Flag of Europe (which late became the EU flag).
That is NOT the Austria-Hungary flag. That is the Austrian EMPIRE flag. Also why did it not accept German Empire, but Germany which is the modern term, While the modern term Turkiye or Turkey didnt work, but Ottoman did? Minor problems all of them but still confusing.
Turkey and ottoman empire are different countries and goverments entirely. germany is- well- germany, of course. what else would you think it is? german empire? that's like calling france the french empire, or the uk the british empire. it's not official, if ya' get what i'm saying, yo yo.
The way you've mentioned Russian Emire, should you also mention British Empire (instead of United Kingdom)? I'm sure there were large casualties from British India.
I think Canadian casualties were slightly higher. https://www.warmuseum.ca/firstworldwar/history/after-the-war/legacy/the-cost-of-canadas-war/ puts it at 60,932, https://thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/battle-of-beaumont-hamel has 60,66, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_in_World_War_I has 67,000 though I think that's including non-military deaths
Russia and Bulgaria's flags have a symbol in the top left. or for Russia the black, gold, white flag would work to.
edit: NVM about austria-hungary I forgot that the flag I was thinking of was the civil ensign.
I translate the quiz to german. If you are not okay with it, please contact me.
