My Polish friend at work knows Laurel and Hardy as Flip and Flap, apparently they were once very popular in Poland.

Great quiz....nominated!

They were famous here in France too (a long time ago), but their names have remained unchanged… which is unusual in France: many characters have been renamed to seem "more French". This habit is lost over time. Phew!

Thanks!

In The Netherlands they were known as Stan & Ollie or a little less politically correct "The Fatty and the Skinny" (De dikke & de Dunne).

In Sweden they're known as "Helan och Halvan" (the whole and the half).

Me. This is a part of American culture that you hear referenced once in a while, but know nothing about because it hasn't been broadcast in your country.

Never come across Morty and Rick before. Is it good?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head.

So perfect for a Frasier lover then?

R&M tries to tread a very fine line between shock and gross out humour with high concept sci-fi. When it works it's excellent but sometimes it leans too much in one direction, especially in later seasons. It's worth trying but you'll know very quickly if it's for you.

I thought the duo in the third column of the second row was a bad AI version of Bo and Luke Duke...though the AI would have to be really bad if that was supposed to be the General Lee behind them! ;)

Oof, not accepting "Grommit" is a particularly harsh enforcement of spelling.

Agree. Creators need some consistency with accepting an extra letter. An "e" was allowed in Starsk(e)y.
