Florida, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Connecticut are "West"... Oregon, Arizona, Montana, and Texas are "East"... Michigan, Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Rhode Island are "South"... and North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Washington, and California are "Midwest". What a time to be alive!

The regions are named for where the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games take place. This year they're in Atlanta (South), Newark (East), Indianapolis (Midwest), and San Francisco (West). Sorta confusing, been filling out brackets for years and didn't know that until recently
