Cool quiz, 10 minutes is way too much though, 5 minutes would be better

I don't get how some people can finish this quiz under 5 minutes (without guessing), my best is 6:43. Changed time to 7:30

i just got 3:38. it's not too hard because if a country has any white country touching it, it's not a mine.

It’s a lot easier when you start grouping by countries of similar borders. Like if you take the lowlands area. If Luxembourg shows X, you can determine Netherlands is a mine if Belgium shows X+1, or safe if Belgium shows X. These groupings are everywhere, Rwanda/Burundi, Liberia/Sierra Leone, Oman/Yemen. It would be tedious to list them all but it’s interesting finding and using them

So I got all of them, but I’m really confused by the countries in black. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose by just telling you that that country has a mine?

I think that might be a glitch on the phone. I had that happen when I first played, but my second run through it worked properly.

This is a neat quiz. It takes some getting used to and lots of rules reading, but it was fun once I got the hang of it. It's too bad that there's no way to prevent people from just typing every country randomly.

I don't know if I just got lucky, but I got 100% first try from simply typing in random countries with no strategy or pattern. I didn't understand the instructions fully before starting anyway.

If you typed a country and the text box doesn't automatically clear out, then you guessed a wrong country and you lose. Unfortunately there's no way for the quiz to tell you that you lost. As for the instructions, I'm creating a tutorial quiz, so hopefully that will clear up some confusion. Stay tuned!

Wow, great quiz and series! However, I’ve noticed with a lot of these that they’ll need more time, especially if you don’t want people typing wrong answers into the box.

You do have a point. I just looked at the quiz stats and thought: man, how are these people so quick!, so I lowered the time in response. But now I realize that these people may have just been blindly guessing. So thanks for the comment!

Thank you!!! I think that this is a great game and it should be moved in the minigames section. However, I suggest to use "whammies" to respect the spirit of the game: I think that people asking for less time didn't realize that this is not a try and guess game and you are supposed to give up at the first mistake (but actually I don't know how whammies work with niger/nigeria, uk/ukraine, guinea/guinea-bissau...).

If you add whammies, I would recommend to accept both finland and norway as correct answers if one of them is, since they are indistinguishable (same neighbors). Same thing for san marino and vatican city, as their own colour can't be seen. A third situation cannot be determined: the presence of sweden+azerbaijan produces the same colouring of norway/finland+armenia (I don't know how this can be solved: maybe you can allow 1 mistake).

So, my suggestions:

-add 5/10 minutes

-allow only 1 mistake (1 whammy)

-set finland/norway and vatican/san marino as type-ins for each other.
