yea, no way Toronto has 7 million, i live in Toronto. Only if you include all the nearby cities as well do you reach that number

ya, it's gotta be the GTA or "Greater Toronto Area" that they are using. I think the city proper has like half that

It's using the urban area, not the city proper, so in Toronto's case, it would be the population of the greater Toronto area

You have to see that this counts metro, dallas barely has that much of population city limits but you have to look at dallas forth worth and all around that and is very populated, same with my city Guadalajara, city proper only has almost a million people

This is a good quiz. It does obviously include surrounding areas but that makes total sense because those areas rely on the core of the city. Nice job.

Why isn't San Diego, San Jose, and san Antonio here? All have a bigger population than San Francisco.

Shouldn't it be San Antonio instead of Dallas? I checked the populations on google and San Antonio is slightly higher. Maybe this quiz is outdated.

If you look at the MANY comments above, most talk about how it is not city proper and that is it by urban area. The urban area of Boston stretches outside of Massachusetts which is why the Boston population is higher that the whole state.

For the Caribbean: only the countries of Haiti, DR and Cuba have more than 3 million people. Fot the rest of us our cities are a tiny fraction

Definitely better to use urban areas as the standard, especially for cities like Miami, which has a city proper population of 450k but an urban population of over 6 million

Nice quiz!
