Dog Breeds by Picture: AKC Working Group

Answers will be randomized each time. - Note: Many of these breeds can come in a variety of colors and patterns. Also, many of these breeds can have either cropped or uncropped ears, and either docked or undocked tails. --Please also note that the term "Anatolian Shepherd" is debated and could/can apply to several types of dog breeds. I have allowed mutliple breeds to be answers to avoid confusion/frustration.

A Turkish Kangal is NOT an anatolian shepherd. Anatolian shepherd is a name given by americans to describe ANY dog from the anatolia region... this could be kangal, malakli, boz shepherd, akbas and also crossbreeds/mutts/street dogs. Also that picture of the dogo argentino needs updating, that dog looks like a poorly bred staffordshire bull terrier lol.

I am an American making a quiz about dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club, obviously I'm going to use the Americanism. I allowed those other breed names to be answers because, as you said, the term "Anatolian Shepherd" can apply to any breed from that region. Those breeds are from that region and hence could be called Anatolian Shepherds. How accurate that is I don't know and don't really care all too much; I'm not a cynologist. I'm just doing it for the sake of covering all my bases. I'm sure if I had made "Anatolian Shepherd" the only correct answer, someone would say that it was actually some other breed in the picture. I will put a disclamer in the description however.

I have also updated the Dogo Argentino picture.
