I don't recall the Da Vinci Code being classified as an important literary work before.

I think that the extraordinary success of that book legitimates its presence in this list as one of the milestones of the contemporary american narration.

Steinbeck wrote "Tortilla Flat." I don't think there's a book by him titled "Tortilla Plan." Please check on this.

It's also William Faulkner, not Paul Faulkner who wrote "Sartoris."
